We have liftoff!

The ornaments and goodies around the Christmas tree were enough to get Tyler's wheels moving this week - he officially started crawling this Tuesday! Hooray for Tyler. :) Watch out, Matthew! It's on, now.

Collierville Christmas Parade

Our third year to see the Collierville Christmas parade...brrr! It was especially good this year, and Nana got to come along for the fun. The highlights of the night for Matthew were seeing Preslie in the dance studio float, and the tractors, fire trucks and motorcycles. The noisy marching bands were pretty well received, too. Anything loud is good in Matthew's book!

Pulling Up

Tyler is really getting close to full mobility as we approach Christmastime! He's been pulling up for a month or so (see the happy puller-up below); and, this week he is moving excitingly close to a full fledged crawl and standing alone. That is, at least until big bro comes and swan dives onto his back. Hooray for Tyler!

Getting All Muddy

We had a tasty little adventure downtown last weekend with the boys. Took this picture of the M-bridge right before we nearly interrupted what appeared to be a gang fight or major shady dealing of some sort. We quickly and thankfully moved onto much sweeter things! After a tasty dinner at our old favorite, Soul Fish Cafe in midtown, we went down to Muddy's cupcake shop for a late night treat. Matthew was elated, to say the least! He and Daddy had a chocolate "Prozac" cupcake and mommy had a "Strawberry Fields." Wow, they were so good!

Twinkies

I am a bit behind on my posting, but this one has been on the backburner for a while now. I can't resist sharing it! Can you believe how much these two look alike?? We feel like they are so different, but whenever we look back at pictures from when Matthew was Tyler's age, we are blown away by their similarity! In the pictures below, I'm holding Tyler this year, and Jon and Lolly are holding Matthew two years ago.

Baby Matthew + hair = Baby Tyler :)

Tom's Farm

Our 2nd annual family trip to Tom's Farm took place this week. All 5 cousins (and us grown-ups) got to ride the hayride through the pumpkin patch, roast hot dogs and smores on the campfire, and play until every speck of daylight was gone. What a blast! You can be sure we'll be back again next year.

Monkey See, Monkey Do

We got out the boys' Halloween costumes a little early and headed down with T to the Arlington Fall Fest last weekend. The boys got to be a part of the costume parade, paint a pumpkin and munch on popcorn (well, not just yet for Tyler). It was a deliciously chilly fall night, and we had lots of fun!

Feeding Frenzy

I gave in to Matthew's repeated requests this week to feed "deh-deh" (which I think means brother) and recorded the fun. Tyler was a little perterbed he didn't get to cast a vote before the action went down. Big brother could hardly contain his excitement, though! Sidenote: Handling the camera and managing cleanup was also easier on mommy than feeding baby with squirmy toddler in lap. I must admit, he didn't do such a bad job!

All Washed Up

Just thought I'd share these pictures. I must specify that this scene took place on daddy's watch. And, yes, I agree that it is gross. See Tyler before and after sliming...

Cupcake Monster

Below is a photo record of the drama at our house last night. Picture a major 2-year old meltdown with screaming, crying and breathless speech. How the scene unfolded: Bailey smells cupcake, Bailey swipes and eats cupcake in other room, Meltdown takes place, Matthew gets new cupcake, Matthew points out where the crime took place, Matthew instructs Bailey that new cupcake is under no circumstances to be eaten by anyone with paws, fur and a long tongue. Whew - thank goodness for that extra cupcake!

Little Shutterbug

A memory chip off the "old block" (just in case you forgot that mommy IS the oldest in the family - by 2 grades), Matthew loves to take pictures like mommy. Check out this closeup shot of Bailey!

Sitting Pretty

Tyler has been sitting up now for a couple weeks, and as you can tell, he is very happy to be up off the floor and one step closer to chasing his big brother all around the house!
